ANG F-16

The F-16 Fighting Falcon was originally conceived as an air-superiority day fighter. But since its introduction in 1978 this aircraft has evolved into a versatile all-weather air and ground attack weapon. The F-16 was the first of a new generation of combat aircraft that employed a total fly-by-wire system. The radical new design made the F-16 the dominate fighter in the world.

The Air National Guard received its first F-16 in 1983 and now is the largest operator of these fighters in the world. The Air Guard fly’s more F-16s than the U.S. Air Force and any of the 25 ally nations that currently deploy this versatile fighter.
